Storage & Handling

Store unopened bottles in a cool, dry place. Chill thoroughly before use. Once opened, use immediately to retain carbonation and botanical aroma.

Shelf Life

Unopened: 6–12 months. Opened: Use immediately

Pro Tip

If a tonic feels flat, it’s usually over-dilution — not lack of flavour.

Usage

Used as a mixer where subtle herbal complexity and restrained bitterness are preferred over sharp quinine. Particularly well suited to spiced rum, floral or citrus-forward gins, and lighter aged spirits.

Top Tips

  • Ideal for spirits with vanilla, oak, or dried fruit notes.
  • Use large ice cubes to maintain structure and prevent dilution from softening aromatics too quickly.
  • Express citrus oils rather than adding juice to preserve clarity.

Possible Substitutions

  • Elderflower tonic water (more floral, less herbaceous)
  • Indian tonic water (sharper, more quinine-forward)

Production Method

Produced by carbonating spring water and blending with natural quinine, rosemary and lemon-thyme infusions, citrus extracts, and natural flavourings before bottling under pressure.

History & Context

Mediterranean Tonic Water was developed to complement botanical spirits with softer bitterness and herbal nuance, expanding tonic’s role beyond the classic gin & tonic format.
